Its very interesting what Nikon as done to its DF model. Sony as been abandoning quite rapidly its Minolta heritage, going into buttons and menu design. Abandoning the Minolta 7, Minolta 9 and later the Minolta 7D switches.
Nikon is doing it backwards with the DF. How will the market and consumers embrace such a move?
Personally I still prefer the handling of the Minolta 7D to the Sony A900. But that's me IMMV.
